Where can I find my building ID number?
Go to the ENERGY STAR Certified Buildings and Plants registry and select your facility type, state, and year certified. On the search results page, click the link at the top of the list that says “Export to Excel.” Locate your property on the spreadsheet. Your building ID will be in the first column. Alternatively, you can send us a request at www.energystar.gov/buildingshelp and we’ll find it for you!
Where can I find my building name?
You must enter the name of your ENERGY STAR certified building or plant exactly as it was approved for ENERGY STAR certification.
For buildings: Look up your building in the ENERGY STAR Certified Buildings and Plants registry.
For plants: Refer to the certificate that was provided to the Corporate Energy Manager.
My building has been approved for certification. Why can’t I buy recognition items?
The information in the web store is refreshed nightly from the ENERGY STAR Certified Buildings and Plants registry. You’ll be able to purchase recognition items from the store the day after your building is listed in the registry. Make sure you’re entering the facility name exactly as it was approved for ENERGY STAR certification and the correct Building ID number.
What recognition items come with certification?
When your building is approved for ENERGY STAR certification, you’ll receive a decal and a certificate as part of your certification package.
What is ENERGY STAR certification?
ENERGY STAR certified buildings and plants meet strict energy performance standards set by EPA. They use less energy, are less expensive to operate, and cause fewer greenhouse gas emissions than their peers. To earn ENERGY STAR certification, a facility must operate among the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide, with no sacrifices in comfort or quality. Starting with the first ENERGY STAR certified building in 1999, tens of thousands of buildings and plants across America have already earned EPA’s ENERGY STAR for superior energy performance.
